Pete Trahan is a Certified Legal Investigator, Louisiana Certified Investigator, and a Distinguished Fellow in the Academy of Certified Polygraphist.

Mr. Trahan is a past Secretary, Vice President   and President of the Louisiana Private Investigators Association.  Mr. Trahan is a past recipient of the Louisiana Private Investigators Associations Investigator of the Year Award (1992) and Distinguished Achievement Award (1996). 

Mr. Trahan was appointed by Governor Edwin W. Edwards to the Louisiana State Board of Private Investigator Examiners.  Mr. Trahan was elected to serve as Vice Chairman of the Louisiana State Board of Private Investigators Examiners and appointed to the training committee.

As training committee chairman he was responsible for producing a three hundred and fifty page manual which is used today by major Louisiana colleges to teach a forty hour license preparatory private investigator license course.  Mr. Trahan served on the board from 1992 until 1996.

Mr. Trahan served as a contract investigator with the 15th Judicial District Public Defenders Office and has served with the Investigative Division of the Louisiana Bar Associations Disciplinary Counsel.

Mr. Trahan conducts internal investigations using the polygraph for local law enforcement agencies such as, the Jeff Davis Sheriff Department, the St. Landry Sheriff Department, the Opelousas City Police, the Leesville City Police and the DeRidder City Police.  As a polygraphist Mr. Trahan is the only polygraphist to have had a case heard by the Louisiana Supreme Court.  The Supreme Court reversed an appeals court decision based on Mr. Trahan's polygraph technique, in affect accepting polygraph examinations as a means of finding the truth in Civil Service hearings.
